**STEELHEAD~CHILE~WINTER STEELHEAD~CHILE~STELLHEAD** Winter Squirrel: This squirrel sure was happy to find a whole treasure chest of nuts, I wonder how they got there? Kind of like the tsunami victims when a helicopter appears, this is a good time to come to someones aid. Besides it feels good and we all know the world could use a little more love these days. I say, "where is the LOVE!" Speaking of finding more love, Union Pacific did it again! I find it hard to love these guys when they continue to dump their trains in my office. Last week U.P. dumped a train car south of Sims exit on I5. Fuel leaked out of one of the tanks, thus making the river smell like diesel. They wouldn't allow the media to look at it and did not report the accident to the City of Dunsmuir nor the River Center. This goes against the promises made to the community by Dave Wickersham, head of western operations. All I can say is The P.U.C. and Union Pacific are out of control folks. We live on the largest tributary to the ocean, this could eventually effect the entire state water system. Could you imagine if or when it's some kind of very toxic chemical. We just avoided hydro-cloric acid spill a year ago. RR, stands for Russian Roulette not Rail Road. Look at all the recent accidents and think to yourselves how the railroad and the P.U.C. really don't care. There're accidents from here all the way back east. I don't take my boat out during huge storms, yet the railroad is always taking chances and endangering communites, enviroments and living the ultimate lie. Can you imagine spilling a train into the Upper Sac and not telling or allowing anyone in? I told the City of Dunsmuir two days later, good thing they had no idea....jt KLamath Chip on: Over on the Klamath Chip Stanley and his son are back for a two day adventure! Chip hooked this beauty to get things started. KLamath Chip lunker: Nice Steelhead Chip! January and February can produce some of the biggest trout. It can be a little cold but it's worth it, besides it's always nice to get out in the winter. Thanks again Chip see you in the spring! KLamath shasta fish look: Shasta trying not to take up too much picture room! Did you know that Shasta has been on over 1700 guide trips in 9 years! I'm trying to get her on the Animal Planet show, as a working dog. Yea right, she works so hard out there! Well maybe on the McCloud River.... Stanley chuck red: Nice RED steelhead! JACK TROUT * CHILE~CHILE~CHILE~CHILE CHILE VOLCANO BRILLIANT: Back in Chile on Lago Rupanco life is marvelous! Great views, and wonderful dry fly fishing in the heat of the summer sun! CHILE Janet silver: Janet caught this silver paris hilton on a leech imitation throwing it into the tulles and striping back slow to medium speed. lago rupanco: Janet was really catching them that day! What a fun way to spend a day in Northern Patagonia! Way to go Francisco! jt lago rupanco wiley: Tres then pulled out a lunker Brown Trout! Most of the time we don't fish lakes in Chile, but when the fishing is like this, why not! Plus later in the week when the legs aren't working as well, this can be a fun productive way to spend a relaxing day... Wiley Lunch: Tres and Janet enjoying a wonderful lunch prepared by Francisco's wife! What a great way to spend an afternoon. Thanks again Janet and Tres, we are glad your trip was perfect! Jack Trout Chile llanquihue and Osorno: Lago LLanquihue and the Volcano Osorno are strikingly beautiful. The lodge is located on the sides of this lake in addition. Chile is a place you must visit in ones lifetime. Chile Cabanas: This is the lodge where we eat breakfast and have some dinners prepared after fishing. This was built in the last five years and has tons of character inside. Isabelle and Ruben are so nice to my customers and are always asking how things could be better? I reply, possible in Heaven! I love this place, unlike other place you could stay in Chile. This place has true Chilean culture and decor, with the charm of something you would see in the country sides of Europe. lodging in Chile: This is the inside of the cabin you stay in. These facilities are so nice and very comfortable. I like that the sleeping facilities is seperate from the main lodge quaters. This gives the customers a lot of privacy, yet close enough to grab a latte in the afternoon... I truly love this place, located near the Rio Petrohue and only 12 miles from Puerto Varas for the night life Sizzlers! Shasta and Lamb Chop: Many of you have asked me what life is like for Shasta on the home front? This is Shasta's love Lamb Chop! Often I find her in the arms of the most famous fishing dog in the world! Who'd a blame Lamb Chop, Shasta ia the bomb when it comes to mutts.*THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT WEEK!
