HOLIDAY GIFT CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE ~ CHILE SIGN-UPS Upper Sac from Larry Green favorite!: Then on the Upper Sac, as if the Sky Pilot heard me himself, the clouds opened up and the snow and rain fell for three days straight. If you were a fish you could not have asked for a better scenario. Snow first, then rain on top of the snow to melt the maximum amount of water, thus filling the mountain streams and delivering fresh water to badly dehydrated rivers. Yes, this storm was happily received by me, the fish, and all of you out there! jt Dec 9th 2004 Usac: On December 7th and 8th, the snow fell hard, especially out at my house near Black Butte Summit at 4000+ feet. My friend and past Chilean customer, Daniel Sedergren, was driving out from Colorado to visit me and get out of the snow... Why not? All my stories of recent showed no snow, and lots of bright & sunny fish sunbathing by the flash of my camera. When Daniel arrived he didn't care. He just stayed in the Dunsmuir Pines and read his favorite book while listening to the rain which just started to change from snow... Upper Sac Daniel: He was going to visit family in the Bay Area anyway, so the trip to visit me wasn't a total loss.. On the day before he left, we went down to the Upper Sac to toss a few casts, and lo'and behold he hooked a nice trout! I caught one too, and we left for dinner at the Salt Water Cafe in Dunsmuir, to reunite with Matt and Uschi Hill, his long lost friends he met in Chile two years ago! Upper Sac ragin dec 2004: This is how it looked the day before! Local legendary guide Fred Gordon said he was catching trout quite regularly before the storms hit! I think these storms are great for making our Holiday/New Year's fishing productive. Give me a call for fly fishing this December/January, I caught my biggest one yet last January! jordan fish on!: This is a story about a kid named Jordan. He went fishing with his father Dave and Guide Chuck Volckhausen on the Klamath River this past week. Jordan did great right from the start hooking into nice sized Klamath River Steelhead! They fought hard, but Jordan did too and before long he thought he was making ground, I mean water on him......? jordan pull: Jordan did his best to take his time not to horse him while still trying to reel the little sponge bob in. But as soon as Bobby got close, the little Chia Pet grew spikes and took off again! This was like a National Geographic adventure with full music blowing in the background as poor Jordan held on for dear life! Like Santiago in Old Man and the Sea, would Jordan prevail?? Would the shark pull the boat to the ocean??? "Far out! I guess inquiring minds want to know!!" jordan wallce dec 2004: No, He did great and landed this lovely Klamath Steelhead! And guess what also he landed? JORDAN WALLACE, YOU'RE MY SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALSO FROM CHUCK, JACK, MIKE HIBBARD AND ALL THE OTHER GUIDES HERE AT JACK TROUT GUIDE SERVICE! klamath chuck and jordan: Guide extraordinaire Chuck Volckhausen and Jordan Wallace, Ladies and Gentlemen! klamath Janes getting serious!: Guide Aaron Greener out with Jane and Skip Anderson from Texas! I love this story because it kind of involves me..? I book all the trips around here, and when Jane called in we had never discussed that we only do fly fishing. So when Aaron was driving them up to the Klamath River and Jane looked down at the Fish Hook's casting pond, Jane exclaimed, "I sure would love to try fly fishing someday!!" To which Aaron said, "That's what we're doing today!" She then became even more excited, and the day was a smash! Jane and Skip both caught several fish on flies and now call themselves fly fisher persons... Now that's a funny story!! jt klamath 2004 1900 cfs: After the storms the river got as high as 2200 cfs on the Klamath River. After that the river receded fast cause of how dry it's been. The next day, my guides were out again and Jim Mossop and his son, Evan, were back for action-still bitten by the bug from our trip in October! klamath evan dec 2004: Evan landed this nice one to get the trip off right! Dad didn't take long to follow behind. Evans Lunker Dec 2004: Even though it was much colder in Mt Shasta, the weather there was great. Evan was glad to just be back out fly fishing again! klamath Jim Mossop: Pops! Jim Mossop with a nice cromer! Sporting his Gene Wilder look or maybe Fee Waybill from the tubes?? In any event! (haha!)
