** CHILE ADVENTURE CONTINUES ON AWESOME RIVERS ** Maullin Garden: The Rio Maullin (pronounced Moo-Jean) is a river located in the 10th region of Chile. This is a special river that reminded me and Chris Allick more of floating a river in Florida than a spring creek river in Chile. The views were spectacular and right off the bat Chris hooked into a lunker Brown Trout on a very big streamer. Unfortunately, the trout got the better of him and shook the hook because of it¥s great massive size! This tropical garden oasis was one that only fishes good early or late in the day, but it was late in the day that proved to be most memorable for Chris. Team Trout Chile: This is a story that begins from the end to the start as I dive into a week adventure of fly fishing, culture and my favorite... FOOD!! My guide Francisco outfitted the boat and before long we were floating a river like none other Chris had experienced in all of his journies before to 18 other countries. Chris Allick stripping big streamers: Francisco had Chris strip a big streamer on a 400 grain sink tip along the edges of the mossy shoreline. After about 1000 casts, it was appearant the hot sunny weather was putting the fish down. Francisco mentioned that after lunch, that things would start to heat up, and by sunset the fish would be rising practically everywhere and then we would have our chance at a really big Brown Trout! Maullin lunch time Sizzler!: Lunch was awesome as usual, for Francisco and his wife put alot of heart and thoughtfulness by going beyond the call of duty to impress and remind our customers who really is #1. Everyday we even get to sample a fine bottle of Chilean wine, smoked salmon and many other great local delictables. After lunch Francisco said the mid day heat and direct sunlight would slow the fishing down, so we took a catnap in a Chilean forest where nothing was poisonous and nothing could hurt us!! Maullin Fish on!: After Lunch things did start to really heat up and so did the hits from hungry trout, before long Chris had a fish on!! Down stream Chris had a fish rip his fly right off, like slicing butter in 100 degree weather... Smaller Brown Trout: Chris caught many smaller fish towards afternoon but it wasn`t til late afternoon that he hooked in to this nice 2 to 3lb. lunkyniesta. This German Brown gave Chris a great bottom fight and I was glad to see Chris excited about his catch, So was Francisco!! Little did we know what laid right around the corner...... Monica Lips!: Chris then hooked into this total lunker that took him for a ride Chilean style!! She bobbed, she weaved down stream as Chris¥s reel screamed out the song, living the vida loca! Later I noticed she had lips like Monica Lewinski!! Monster Brown!!: Way to go Chris your my SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!!!! SIZZLERS NOW RECEIVE A JACK TROUT CAP..... JT Francisco great job: Francisco released Chris¥s fish and before long we were close to the end of our marvelous journey. The fish starting rising everywhere and at the take out I put on a dry fly and caught some trout on the surface. Great day Francisco your an expert on the Maullin and Chris commented how he enjoyed his day out on one unique fishery... jt Chris`s Cabin: This is mine and Francisco¥s new set up here in the 10th region and Chris enjoyed his stay as a home owner in the country side of Chile! a nice place to stay in chile: I really liked staying here also, and the breakfast¥s accompanied by the smiles of the owners Isabel and Ramone made it even more classic. local hospitality and warm hellos every morning, as well as the first cup of real coffee I¥ve ever tasted in Chile! They bought a latte machine and were wipping up some mean brew!!**WELL THERE YOU GO SIZZLERS ANOTHER EXCITING ADVENTURE, STAY TUNED AS CHRIS GOES BACKWARDS IN TIME TO THE RIO COCHAMO VALLEY, RIO PETROHUE AND 2 OTHER RIVERS YOU¥LL JUST HAVE TO WATCH TO SEE!!
