*ADVENTURES IN CHILE MONTH, YOU¥RE GONNA LOVE IT!**
As I first laid eyes on a land so undiscovered, I soon realized the beauty of life, and my days from then on were fulfilled forever as though I saw heaven on earth.jt
After arriving to Santiago, Chile. I decided to take the train down to Temuco and visit my old pal Ana Maria and her mother. The train ride was terrific and the night travel made a 9 hour trip go by like float trip with Mike Hibbard on the Trinity River. It was a classic start to a great adventure and I savored a wonderful bottle of Chilean wine and thought about past adventures in a country that¥s long and skinny. This was to be a very special trip, for it has been 10 years that I have been coming here and without a doubt it is the best country I¥ve ever been to out of 19.
We made a stop on the way and a beautiful girl named Andrea
sat and waited for the pigs to get off the tracks. I didn¥t mind though cause the people were great and I enjoyed my conversation with Andrea and others that laughed and joked
about a scene of typical Chile.
I finally arrived in Temuco and Ana Maria was there to greet me. We headed to her house and her Mom made us empanadas, a traditional Chile dish, That are to live for. It¥s made with beef onions, Chilean spice, hard boiled eggs and an olive.
Once made the empanadas are fried to perfection.
Nothing is better than to be invited into a Chileans home for food and laughs. I was so happy to be back and knew the adventure was just starting. Monica is always trying to stuff me with food and actually enjoys asking me over and over if I need anything else. Yes, Atkins Diet!
Ana Maria and Monica are like my family south, and have helped me immensely with my operation in Chile. Ana Maria is in her last year at Temuco University and has mastered the English language while I¥ve come light years with my Spanish!
I decided to go to Pucon the sister city to Mt Shasta! Maybe the greatest town I¥ve ever seen in my life. Beach, fly fishing, rivers and lakes everywhere. The most beautiful girls in the world, parties that last til sunrise, and I¥m not kidding, I was at one last night!!!
What the heck, the customers start coming down next week so party when you can Sizzlers! All this with the Andes mountains as your backdrop, as to witness the spectacle.
Pucon is awesome, not your typical Chilean town. Lots of European influence here after the Chileans gave countries like Germany and Scandinavia incentives to move here in the early 1900¥s. I think the best part are the German beers, they just never understood the good coffee part for the next day, so bring your own. Nescafe doesn¥t cut it, but Peets Coffee from SF sure does!
The town is full of foot loose and fancy free people. These two girls acted upon their emotions unprompted when seeing me take their photo downtown. As my hot shot guide, Chuck would say, " This town is the bomb, peace out!" Oh this new generation...... Dig in Sizzlers, and embrace the new youth, it¥s magic!
You remember last year I climbed Villarrica Volcano with Matt and Uschi Hill and we saw Condores on the way up! This 9500 foot volcano is still smoking and in the Winter it glows
at night, how cool is that!
I took a stroll on the beach and met these two models here in Pucon doing a modeling show! Carolina, on the left was from Chile and Asucina on the right was from Ecuador. Well guess what ladies your my SIZZLERS OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNERS!!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLERS!!!
Later on I ran into this couple enjoying the rays and more!
