Monday, July 14th, 2003**Book Now Fall Steelhead Trips** Frog Lake Henderson Springs 2003: Henderson Springs is a Private lodge and fly fishing reserve with 5 lakes and a creek that runs through the property. This is Frog Lake the home of many huge enormous trout, on June 9th we visited and guided Henderson Springs and had a marvelous time with the Bill Butler Group! Mike Hibbard instructing: Here's guide Mike Hibbard instructing Erwin on how to cast and catch a trout in Grand Pa's Creek. This group was new to fly fishing, but it didn't take long for them to catch on. Mike Hibbard with lunker: Mike Hibbard and Erwin caught this trout nymphing under the surface. This was Erwin's first trout on a fly rod, he was happy to say the least. Erwin then cracked open a beer and preceeded for another trout, beer for this group was like Popeye's spinach! Jack with lunker!: Mac was a quick learner too! It only took a few minutes for Mac to figure out things and before we all knew it Mac was hooking into trout everytime I looked up. Shasta the trout dog is still pointing at a trout! Kevin Hard at work!: This is Kevin everyone! You may reconize him from Super Bowl parties! Anyway he's busy fishing hard and devising a plan of attack on how he can cast, set and still be able to sip on his drink. This guy is incredible clever, the fish sure thought so! "Thanks again Kevin for all your help!" jt Kevin and Mike's comedy act: Mike and Kevin had a fun time landing this trout that just slipped away out of site! The thing I really enjoyed about Kevin was he thought this was great! We were having so much fun catching trout on Hex's on the surface, it really didn't matter we were gonna let it go anyway! Hex Hatch: One evening we were all out at Frog Lake when Mike shouted to me," get over to the east end of the lake there's a HEX HATCH!" We all rowed as fast as we could cause we all knew trout go crazy for Hexigenia Mayflies. Sure enough the fish were rising frantically for these very large insects. Trout as large as 10lbs were rising and we were amongst them, soon we would be catching them!jt The Lunker!: I'm kinda embarrased on this photo! I look like Guide Charles Manson Anyway the trout was estimated over 10lbs and was caught on a Hex imitation. Henderson Springs is great place to bring a group of friends, business associates or even the family for that matter. Call us for info 530-926-4540 Erwin and Jim Roberts: Erwin and Jim did good hooking into many trout on the surface, Erwin had a battle cry everytime he hooked a trout, I can hear it Now, "LUNK - KER!!!!!" "another LUNK - KER!!!" Mac in my pontoon: Mac again with a another hefty trout caught out of a pontoon boat. This is the place for a beginner or someone who isn't into hiking rivers. The lakes are full of trout and many methods work catching them. Butler group June 2003: World meet the Bill Butler group!! These might be the funniest group of characters I've ever laid eyes on!
