Monday, February 17th, 2003**Special Mt Shasta Tele Mark Report**
My friend and Scenic Tour Guide Robin Kohn went up on Mt Shasta this past President's Day Weekend and took this great shot of Avalanche Gulch. The weather was mixed with a little sun, a little snow and as always a lot of fun. But be aware
climbing and skiing on or around Mt Shasta takes knowledge and expertise in both climbing, avalanche and knowing the right times.
Robin has taken courses from the USFS Avalanche Awareness Center
put on by Matt Hill local climbing ranger. She has learned from past experiences and whiteouts that come up unexpectedly, when to call it quits. But now the conditions are perfect, and we suggest you call the local Mt Shasta Ranger office for more info 530-926-4511
This is called Broadway it's a section on Green Butte Ridge on the south side of Mt Shasta. You can see the skiers up above the cornice
that drops you down into Avalanche gulch! Right On Skier Friends
Your my Sizzlers of the Week!!
What a great place to live!!! Robin loves Tele Mark Skiing and perfers the slower economy, she says she gets more skiing in than ever! All play and some work makes Robin a happy camper! What cool life you lead up here in Mt Shasta.
Ladies and Gentlemen Robin Kohn. Robin is awesome friend and guide
and was kind enough to take my camera with her on the mountain today and share these fine photos with YOU, the viewing audience.
All applaud Robin........ Thank You Robin
Here's up on the mountain looking south towards the San Francisco
Bay Area or Redding. It's the Sacramento River drainage canyon, the water that starts here becomes the largest aquaduct to the ocean in California.
She climbs the snowy trail one more time to take another pass on the fine powder flake. What a great way to spend a holiday, on her favorite mountain in the world, Mt Shasta.
Here comes the storm and she's off the mountain, Robin is experienced enough and knows the moods of the Majestic Mt Shasta.
**WHAT A GREAT SET OF PICTURES AND INFO, MY NEXT REPORT WILL BE FROM CHILE, SEE YOU THEN MY FRINEDS** JACK TROUT
