Tuesday, December 17th, 2002**SKI PARK IS OPEN!!** First Snow Dec 17th 2002: Ah! the first real Winter storm of the season brought us lots of fresh snow! As I look into my backyard I think to myself, I sure hope there's more to come!! JT Steve Walsh and his Brad Pit Impression: Hey everyone this is Steve Walsh with a big one on! He hooked into this "chunky monkey" (can I say that over the internet?) and then he had to jump out of the boat if he even had a chance of landing this beauty. Over the rocks slipping yet holding onto his rod, he looked like Brad Pit in that movie.....! Steve Walsh Swimming in December: Steve's a fireman, what do fireman love "water". Steve earned 10's on this attempt to run faster than the fish. It's hard to tap a 1000lb pound boulder out of your way, especially when you don't see it. Something has to give and it aint that 1000lb boulder, at least Steve kept his tip up and his chest down. We changed the dynamics of the picture to make an artistic impression, one that many of Steve's family could look up and enjoy. Steve's catch!: Steve finally got that lovely Steelhead in, and we celebrated by slapping each other a high five. Funny how these trout look like rainbow trout, but the absence of spots below the lateral line ties them to the Steelhead strain of trout. Great job of getting this one in 90% would have lost it, which makes me proud to award you with the SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD!!!!!!!!! FOR THE FIREMEN TOO!!! Pat Mahoney showing off his catch: Here's Steve's partner Pat Mahoney showing what he had caught right as Steve released his exercise for the day. Pat's an accomplished fly tier, he caught this Steelie on one of his caddis patterns he tied! I really enjoyed being out with the firemen, they know how to give eachother a good harass'n. For them it's a way of saying, " I love you friend". Eric Ericksen: Eric Ericksen seen here with a very respectable catch! This guy and Ralph Tingle have been Winter Steelhead fishing every December for years and I'm proud to be a part of it! These guys always bring a great bottle of expensive wine to drink on the river. They annually toast the river and are eternally grateful of our local resources like the Klamath River and St. Helena area vineyards! Ralph Tingle: Ralph Tingle fighting a steelhead with a fine Cuban in his mouth. I really enjoy the smell of cigars out on the river, Ralph looks like Jessie James in this battle.jt Ericksen's beauty: This was Eric Ercksen's Catch, I estimated it to be about 7lbs. It was 26"'s Long!!! Way to go Eric.... Greg Livingood: Look at this lovely trout that Greg Livingood caught. Greg has a name like me, that patterns ones life. Greg Livingood..(you can tell by his catch), Jack Trout..(thinks like fish, looks like a bug) Loves his job!!!!!!! Todd wading in the Klamath: Todd said, "let me out here, and proceeded to catch a fish. It was smaller than others he had caught but he treated everyone with respect and enjoyed himself both days he fished. way to go Todd Todd's lunker: And with that we end our week, we fished through the storm defied Mother Nature and still caught some nice fish! Congradulations Sizzlers I'm proud of you! *TAKE CARE AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK* JACK TROUT
