Nothing better than fly fishing our local rivers in the month of June! Frank Potts can attest to that, he had a wonderful day on the McCloud River. Hatches have been going from 10am to 2pm then it picks back up around 5:30pm. Hatches include Golden Stoneflys, Little Yellow Stones, Grey Mayflies and the occasional Drakes that the trout tell me they perfer the most, especaially the Green Drakes. Good Luck Sizzlers JT
Here's that loveable Mutt chill'n on a rock watching trout rise to Mayflies. I think Shasta loves the cool canyon of the McCloud River
she can stop and reflect about all the good things that are going on in her doggy life. Things like, "is IAMS dog food better tasting than Science Diet?" "Can they make a better, more flavorable Milk Bone dog biscut?" "Is this guy gonna catch more fish or am I gonna take another nap..........
I'll take a nap.............
Here's Frank Potts from Gilroy with a lovely McCloud River Rainbow on! Frank and Terry were a real pleasure to fish with, hope to see you guys in the Fall!
Hey Frank nice catch! Frank enjoyed his 1/2 day on the McCloud and the second half on the Upper sac. I've been finding that the McCloud is fishing good in the mornings until about 2pm, then I head over to the Sac and have great fishing in the afternoons there too!!! Frank caught this spunky monkey on size 18 Micro Mayfly. Way to go Frank your my SIZZLER OF THE WEEK!!! Congrats...
Mountain Feabane is often mistaken for Western Aster, they have the same looking flowers, but the leaves off the stem are different. You think it matters to this butterfly? I don't think so, he's happy as a butterfly can be in Spring!
Way to go Terry, this gorgeous 21" Rainbow was caught on a small nymph. He put up quite the fight and made Terry's day. I hope to get out with you sometime my friend and get you into one of these
monsters!**WELL FOLKS TUNE IN NEXT WEEK AS I VISIT A VERY SPECIAL AND PRIVATE PLACE ON ONE OF OUR LOCAL RIVERS, UNTIL THEN
ENJOY NATURE AND YOU WILL ENJOY LIFE, MANY RIVERS TO YOU, JACK TROUT**
