Wednesday, February 6th, 2002 **Patagonia Highlights** Maipo Patagonia Man!: I float the rivers here in Chile quite often, on this day I got the opportunity to float it with Charlie and Nancy Wilson. The views were awesome from the boat and the one in this background picture on the Simpson River is one of my favorites. The Maipo Patagonian Man can be seen in the rock in the distance! He watches over all that passes through this valley, and oddly enough this area is a kinda of micro climate. Charlie floating the Simpson: After floating for a while we came across a huge Rainbow Trout rising frequently for mayflies. Charlie hooked into him and I estimated this trout at 26"¥s. Even though we lost this one, the next one did not get away! Sometimes you gotta just root for the trout. We stopped off at this spot in the pic to do some nymphing. Charlie trout on the Simpson: Charlie fought this nice 20" trout for 15 minutes or more, while Nancy and I watch in utter amazement! I love this job, and the places it takes me. Charlie and Nancy were ready for more action as we continued down stream on our 7 miles drift. Charlie on the Simpson: Here¥s Charlie, another Charlie ready for action on the Simpson. This day he caught over 10 all on drys after we all enjoyed a great lunch at our favorite restaurant. Charlie came a total beginner and Guide Juan Ramos helped him become a intermediate. We all love you CHarlie take care Sizzler. Juan says hi! Nancy with a nice trout: On another day we walk into the canyon and Nanacy caught this nice McCloud River Rainbow. She had a great catching day and enjoyed out fishing Charlie, Which isn¥t that rare, She reguarly out fishes everyone! Way to go Nancy.... Jack with a nice Brown: Hey folks check out this huge brown caught here in one of our many hopper rivers. This one gives a new meaning to hydro-dynamic! A lot of times the customes ask, "So, should I bring anything else besides hoppers to this river"? NO.... Just Hoppers!!!!! Thats all they want. Charlie Cascada:
