January 16, 2002 *PATAGONIA CHILE *
Patagonia Chile:
I made it to Patagonia Chile! the Mt Shasta area of the south. I shot this photo at 8 o'clock in the evening, the sun is up until 10:30pm and I'm not complaining! It sure is beautiful here. The Andes mountains are breath taking and the scenes are unforgetable. The seafood is great including abalone, I will shoot some pics of the food and the local restaurants in some upcoming reports. This is awesome SIZZLERS, once in your lifetime you should visit the Patagonia, but if you can't I'll show you the greatest pics from here. Jack Trout
rio simpson patagonia chile:
The Rio Simpson is a wonderful river full of rainbows and browns! I've been coming down now for 8 years and this looks to be the best year yet. Hope to see you down here some time.
Lupins along the rio simpson:
Along the banks of the Rio Simpson grow wild lupins, daisys and many others I¥m still trying to name. It was my first day out, the weather is hot probably in the 80¥s. The views are great, they often remind me of a forgotten time.
JUAN RAMOS WITH A FISH ON!:
This is my friend Juan Ramos, he works as a carabineros (police officer) in Coyhaique, the town I live in when I'm in Chile. We ate a great lunch prepared by his wife Leticia then headed out to the Rio Simpson for a little trout action! Heres Juan with NICE 16" McCloud River Rainbow. Do you remember all the trout in Chile are from our McCloud River.
JUAN RAMOS WITH his Trucha:
Juan caught ten trout on dry flies in two hours of fishing, all over 16"s and fighting hard. Juan is a happy kinda guy who loves Americans. I know you hear stories about South America, but Chile is very safe and user friendly! I love this place and will continue to entertain you with lots of upcoming photos. This is the place to be January through April, so tune in often to see great photos from the Patagonia!
