January 8th, 2002 *HAPPY NEW YEAR!* juan ramos with a nice trout: Eddy Dream!: This is Mt Eddy taken at Sunset at 5:15 Pm What great Winter Colors. Almost looks painted, what a great place to live, not only for Mt Shasta, but all the other really hidden treasures our county offers. This will be my last report from Mt Shasta until I return from Patagonia, Chile. I will be reporting from Chile after January 14th! Stay Tuned Sizzlers, should be some very exciting stories from down south. JT Eddy Sky!: Right now both in the morning and at sunset were getting these gorgeous skys. I often look up and gaze at the firery colors of the briskly cold Winter. Good time to come up and visit Mt Shasta, you can ski or go on a hike. I like using snow shoes, yea just head off into no where with snow shoes on! Talk about a good work out with great views, No diet pill needed. Eddy Spectrum of colors!: I wanted to say hello to all my friends out there and wish them all a very happy new year and I hope 2002 is a properous year for us all! I'm having a going away party this Saturday!! Chilean Style! See you there Sizzlers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eddy Wow!: All my friends are skiing all over the place, of course you have the conventional skiing at the Mt Shasta Board and Ski Park. Then you got the bunch of nutty locals like Stiles Larsen or Eric Rideout, and a whole cast of other characters that wouldn't think twice about hiking Mt Eddy in the Winter just to find some fresh Shimmy Powder to carve. Eddies Wild Flowers from Spring 2001: Here's a favorite pic of mine, from the hike I did this summer up the Eddy Mountain Trail. This patch of wild flowers had so many different colors, which included the likes of many native to our area such as, Monks Hood, Tiger Lillies and Straw Flower. I especially think back and enjoyed emensely my trip into the Eddy Crater! Eddy Mountain 9025 ft.: This is what it's like to be inside the crater of not an extinct, but dormant volcano. Eddy Mountain is 9025 feet high, in most areas this massive structure of beauty would be awed and embraced, but because it is dwarf by the presence of Mt Shasta, only locals know it's secrets and take advantage of it's recreational benefits. Located on the west side of the town on Mt Shasta, the Eddies are an outdoor nature buffs best friend. The views are tremendous and hard to forget, maybe thats why I'm bringing this story back as one of 2001 best! Jack Trout June 2001
