The Ski Park opened last Wednesday, for many anxious snow boarders and skiers it could of not come sooner! To top it off we received a storm the day before and a series of light dustings that day and into the night making it a classic Winter playground. I had to guide that day but went afterwards and enjoyed some great powder! The Mt Shasta Board and Ski Park is already sporting a 4 1/2 foot base and it seems like everyday we get a few flakes and then some. I think this is undoubtedly the best Ski Park start in years especially if these storms keep up. Night skiing is awesome and is going on Wednesday through Saturday, it's a favorite past time for Mt Shasta locals to skip work in December and go skiing. See you up there!! Jack Trout

Klamath River still going strong producing 20 to 40 fish days catch and release always!!! Unbelievable year, I'll be guiding until I leave for Chile January 14th, well of course a break is in order from December 16th through December 25th for the Holidays. Got tickets to the both the 49ers and Raiders for the same day December 22nd. Sure hope the first game doesn't go into overtime. Alex seen here in the picture enjoyed himself with his son Craig who both caught about 40 between them.

Heres Craig with a nice Klamath Rainbow Trout. It's a male I can tell because of it's lower hook jaw and pointed hydro dynamic design! Sounds like a car commercial, Craig thought he was being pulled by a medium size S.U.V. when he hooked into this lovely scaled creature. I'm still catching a lot of these size trout and steelhead into January.

On another day I fished with Gary Norvell and we had a great day out there. I haven't had a slow day all season, it's a year to remember for sure. I sure don't take it for granted, I've seen the harder fishing days, it's a welcome surprise with the Klamath River this year.

Way to go Gary, nice Steely! Have a safe Holiday Season, we hope to see you up here in Mt Shasta soon. Many Rivers to you, Jack Trout
