Saturday, December 1st, 2001 *SKI PARK OPENS DEC 5TH!!!* A Winter to remember!: This is taken at Summit Road, 3 miles outside of Mt Shasta by Black Butte, west of Interstate 5, 8am Saturday morning. This is the third storm now in a weeks time and the big one they say is due to hit Sunday the 2nd. I sure wouldn't be out in this stuff without the proper vehicle or at least without chains. The snow sure is a delightful sight after not seeing storms dump snow like this in 7 years or more. It's 12 noon now and the storm has let up and it's much more brighter out. State Road Conditions 1-800-427-7623 Santa Jim and Shasta high stick nymphing: Bet you didn't know what Santa does before he has to deliver all those presents, He goes fishing with me!!!! Heres Santa high sticking out of the boat with Shasta nearby. Santa Claus enjoyed his first trip to the Klamath and thought. "why not deliver more fly rods to kids, what a great way to get a kid headed in the right direction." "So be it he said, more fly rods to kids this Christmas!" I thought, " how's he gonna get the rods down the chimneys?" Santa and his Christmas catch: Heres Santa and Shasta bringing in a 1/2lber, Shasta thought she'd try to release this one. Santa and his Steelhead: Yes in deed folks Santa caught a few adults on this day! and thought to himself, "the Klamath River is a special place on earth." Klamath and Jim Pett: Santa brought one of his helper elves to fish with him, his name was Jim. Jim caught a lot of adults that day, maybe over 12 and plenty more 1/2lber's. All day every time I looked up Jim had another fish on! And when we were finished Santa and his helper took off in Santa's big sleigh and disappeared into the clouds as the storm hit. I made it home just in time to put the boat away and think, "I just had a great day fishing with Santa Claus and his helper elf Jim." Right on Santa, your my "Sizzler of the Week!" Take care, Jack Trout Mt Shasta Town December 1st 2001: Mt Shasta December 1st, 2001. Were getting ready for Christmas come on into town and buy a gift, we have plenty of shops to choose from!
