30 years in business, it sure has been an amazing ride, but just as I think I must be heading for the otherside of my tenure, my body tells me no, you got at least 15 more years in ya. 🙂

This has been a great season so far for the Upper Sac Raft Fly Fishing Trips, the flows are perfect and the weather has been delightful. We’ve had clients come as far away as Tasmania and as close as Redding, California.

Nice healthy rainbows, it’s always good to see them in this shape as the water temps have been cold but are now creeping up and bug hatches are growing exponentially as leaves double in size for shared rent spaces in the Entomolgy Kingdom. A lush, lavish, luxury of murder for trout, the bugs leave home and are never seen again alive.

Sadly, none of the cases have been covered by Forensic Files on HLN, DNA very hard to come by underwater. Poor little underserved bugs, once they hit the water, they don’t stand a chance and no one really cares about them out there. People are just laughing in their faces, trying to “Immitate Their Appearance.” Like that would make it any easier for the little-philly-cheese-steak. Sometimes life just isn’t fair, especially in a bugs lifetime. People always chasing you from the moment you’re born, manditory middleage reinvention. “I liked being in my skin? I liked being underwater, what the hell is this metamorphosis and why am I rising to the top of the river like Wonka’s Fizzy Lifting Drinks. Oh there’s Grandpa Joe & Charlie..” (THE NEXT DAY ) “Hey, guess what? Fizzy give you wings! Think I’ll go find a date, cruise the strip, maybe I’ll get lucky & start a family.” 

This is my cleint Chris Wells from Tasmania, he and his wife had a great three days fly fishing in the Dunsmuir area of Northern California. Now is the time and I still have open dates in late June and all of July. 🙂

McCloud River has been fly fishing good, the hatches are pretty predictable.

The river is off color a little bit now because of Mud Creek. Should be totally blown out by the end of June and gray water. Call me for updates or watch www.facebook.com/jacktroutshasta

A lot of bears out there this year on the McCloud River and rattlesnakes, hire me and my dog Trinity River to keep you safe on your guide trips. You never know and I even hear wolves howling out there once in a while. Be safe, my dog is trained for both bears and rattlesnakes, the call of the wild has changed, never just go out in the woods alone, have a plan. What would you do if you ran into a bear face to face 6 feet from you? I don’t pack a gun, I pack a dog, nothing is faster to react. JT

Always nice to catch a big brown trout, we were using numphs very deep.

I reported on this Bald Eagle before, I think it’s the kid though, the parents might have not have made it through the fire? It takes a Bald Eagle 5 years to finally get its white head. That’s where many people mistake an immature Bald Eagle for a Golden Eagle.

Ted with a great trout this past week. He loved the trip so much he went out for two days!

We didn’t let him down as the second day, was even better. 🙂

I always have a gourmet streamside bbq fly fishing lunch, I also do special requests, let me know.

Always fun when you catch them on a dry fly! 🙂 You get to add 3 inches to the fish catch my dad always said. 🙂

Not only is John and Bob fisher a couple of douche bags, they’ll do it to you like they did to me with a smile of their faces. Can you imagine I sent my guides down to their McCloud River Club and they pimped my guides out from underneath me for $75 per day commission I was making? I taught their dad Don Fisher how to fly fish. The father who trust funded all their wealth to them as they have never worked a hard day in their lives. I put a 1945 Chicago Cubs, Billy Goat Tavern Curse on the Team. The A’s will never win a World Series or anything until John fisher sells the team. I’ll never forget what they did to me and it was wrong, they laughed in my face. We’ll see in the end, who ends up where in the chronicles of history, John Fisher is the most hated man in sports right now …. 🙂 I have a feeling things are just getting started for that family and their reputations.
