The Winter is here now and the morning temps are in the 20's, 30's and 40's. The day time temps are much better, but after that sun drops behind the mountains it's like morning again, COLD! I've been getting out a little later cause the Steelhead seem to be hitting bugs between 10am til about 3pm. No use freezing the customers when it's not necessary. Besides, they tend to come back if they don't get frostbite! Take care everyone and have a great Thanksgiving with the ones you love! jt (I do have heaters in my boat!)

Nulson Smith here with his catch from the private McCloud River. Nulson is a one of a kind character! There's only ONE Nulson Smith. He's one of these unique people who entertains the guides more than the guides entertain him. (thats rare!) He missed his calling. He should of been on Saturday Night Live or something, playing the sports analysis Jim Rome. I'm OUT!!! Thanks again Nulson, you're great people! ( God made him humble though by giving him 3 beautiful daughters). (picture from Nov 1st, 2003)

Grant loved the action of his reel as this Steelhead made its way into our net! The Klamath is fishing great right now until Christmas. Hope to see you this Winter on the Klamath or maybe in Chile! Remember, the weather on the Klamath is much better than in Mt Shasta. I suggest you look up the weather for Yreka when checking on the Klamath River.

Grant nice fish!! I guess that College education is really paying off!! You might recognize Grant from Diablo Valley College, I sure wish he could bring me an intern or even the TWINS!!

The looks of Winter as we take a look at the Shasta River with Mt Shasta as a backdrop. This pic goes out to Jesse King, stationed in Alexandria, Virginia in the Coast Guard. He's from Susanville and loves the Shasta area. Ok Jesse here you go!!! Have you ever been to the blue belly lizard races in Doyle, California?? I thought you might have being from Susanville and all?? Wow, that lizard race put Doyle on the map!!! (barely) Ok Jesse don't be home sick, think of that lunker you'll catch on Eagle Lake when you get home!! JT

Chris is hilarious to be out with!! Look at that happy dude getting pulled down the river by a Steelhead that didn't vote for the BUSH administration, but likes Arnold! This fish dreams of one day possibly swimming up into its fertile spawning grounds up around Keno...... ( Dams must be like the Berlin Wall to Salmon and Steelhead??) Not an educated opinion though..jt

Chris finally landed this November gobbler and found out later the fish votes Green Party! Wow! Who'da thunk it!! Way to go Chris!!!! Have great Holidays....jt

Mark and Teresa Markrewicz are longtime customers! For over 9 years I've been guiding them on adventures from here to Patagonia, Chile! Mark is one of the best anglers I get every season, so it was no surprise when he starting doing his usual, hook monsters on fly rod, no assembly necessary!

Mark you show off!!! JT

The Monster!!! Mark then hooked into this whale, one of the biggest trout I've hooked in the Klamath. Measured out at 25"'s and estimated at 8 to 10lbs. Everyone knows I exaggerate though, the customers approve of it and choosy Mothers choose Jiffy! Anyway nice fish Mark, you are undoubtedly SIZZLER OF THE WEEK!!!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!

Teresa and Shasta sporting their Old Navy Jackets on a colder Klamath day. Be sure to dress for anything when coming to the Klamath and the Mt Shasta area. Shasta says there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad hair days. ** TAKE CARE EVERYONE AND HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING, JACK TROUT**
