Mt Shasta in Rose Blush:
Mt Shasta in all it's glory, a mountain like no other in California. What would you do if you were in Mt Shasta? Hike, fish, ski or just go for a walk in the many forest? The decision is yours my friend! Recently the weather has been perfect in the Mt Shasta area, now's the time to get out and take a drive to visit this wonderful mountain community!
Crossing over the Andes:
When we returned from Brazil Ana Maria, me and her University friends all crossed this portion of the Andes Mountains between Mendoza, Argentina and Santiago, Chile. The views the drive presented were spectacular, and to think this was the smaller section of the mighty border mountains. The food chain for water starts way up here and like Mt Shasta, feeds the many towns, cities and ranches as it cascades down the high mountain cliffs.
Another look Andes 2003:
Were at about 9000 feet the peaks come in around 10,000 to 13,000 around us. It's mid Summer now, and as you can see the mountains could use a little snow. were not the only Continent having abnormal Winters and decreasing snowfall especially towards Spring?
The Mountain Road:
Coming off the some of the greatest mountains in the world is not easy by vehicle or bus. You must traverse the steep inclines and respect your speeds. Sometimes in Winter the Mountain pass is shut down and the border is closed between Argentina and Chile.
Foz do iguacu Brazil ~ Foz de iguazu Argentina:
One more look at Foz De Iguazu, the widest and most unbelievable waterfalls I've ever seen. jt
Klamath River Side Channel:
A side channel on the Klamath River, what a nice site. A great spot for a trout or a steelhead to hang out waiting for unsuspecting insects to float into their yap.
Jim Dickey Klamath:
Jim seen here with a nice steely, it's fun to catch these beauties in February, especially with weather like it's been!
Jim Dickey with another nice catch!:
In all Jim Dickey had 19 trout and 1/2 lb steelhead, oh yea and one adult steelhead. In all it was a great day out on the Klamath River. I'll be here for another 10 days then I head for Coyhaique, Chile.
Jack Trout and Klamath River 2003:
Look at this nice monster! Makes you want to get out and use that fly rod thats been sitting around. From here on out my guides will be offering guide trips on the Klamath, Lower Sac and Trinity Rivers.
