Monday, December 9th, 2002** RAIN IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!** Mt Shasta and Black Buttte Dec2002: Mt Shasta and Black Butte as shown from the Shasta Valley. Did you know Black Butte was originally named Muir's Peak? Yea, it was a favorite climb for our old buddy John Muir. he enjoyed climbing Black Butte and sketching pics of Mt Shasta. There's a lot of history in these parts and characters to boot. My favorite include Joaquin Miller, Alexander McCleod and Ross McCloud, all California legends in my book. jt Terry and his Candy Apple Red Trout: Friends and Family check out this truly unique Red Side Rainbow trout caught by Terry BOB CAT! It reminds me of the Red Sides we catch on the Deschutes River in Madras, Oregon. I don't know if this trout is related to the Red Side Trout of the Deschutes but boy is there similarities!!!!!! You know, theres a lot of different looking trout and steelhead in the Upper Klamath? like down by Happy Camp you get the true cromers, but up by the Iron Gate Hatchery you get a smoorgesborg of different fish, size, color, wild, hatchery, trout, steelhead, salmon, you name it! When you set the hook you don't know if it's 10"'s or 10lbs. Candy Apple Red: All I want for Christmas............! Michael and his 7lber+++++++++: Wow! Michael hooked and landed this 7lb monster!!!!!!! I would use this Michael as a Christmas card to send to all your friends and family they'll either really appreciate or never talk to you again.
