Awe what a pleasant site, the McCloud River as it turns to Fall. Notice the Elephant Ears are starting to turn to their brillant autum colors. this is my favorite time of year, the mornings are brisk but not too cold and the day time is the perfect temp. Fishing has been good! but wait until two weeks from now when all the Steelhead hit the Trinity and Klamath Rivers up in our neck of the woods!

The McCloud River is one of a kind with it's pristine water and almost unbelievable color! Just ask Jean Michel what he thinks of this unique river, I guarantee he'll be back!

Shasta the dog sure loves watching anyone catch trout. Did I tell you she points at rising trout! She's a kick, everyday she goes on my guide trips and makes them memorable for me and my clients. I think she must be one of the luckiest dogs in the world, but thats a dog's life for ya!

Here's Joe fishing away! I'd like to thank Joe Ciatti for 6 awesome years of guiding, Joe we all appreciate your business and look forward to guiding you in the future! Good Luck October 7th on the Lower Sacramento hope you catch a lunker! JT

Mike hold on to that trout! Mike fun fishing with you, you were a great student, hope that you keep fly fishing, it's really is a lot of fun! I love fly fishing not just for catching fish, but for the places it takes me, the McCloud River is a gift from heaven!

Will lets change the pace a little and head over to the Klamath River for a a cruise down one of California's most hidden secrets. The Klamath River is a great rafting rivers that provides all classes from 1 to 5. today we chose the Tree of Heaven float that happens to rate out at 2+ at best. This was to be a sunday drive, a laid back fun in the sun adventure journey. With who you ask? but of course, all of the Managers and Owners of RAYS FOOD PLACES located in Mt Shasta as well as California and Oregon. What a nice bunch of characters with an easy going attitude. Kinda like when I'm pushing a cart around RAYS FOOD PLACE, one-mellow-cat. We had our safety talk and before we knew it we were off, or something like that.

This was the scene in my raft, of course I had all my troops looking over the sides for Steelhead and Salmon! We saw lots, and after this trip I headed back to fish the Klamath Stay tune for that adventure in a future story...... (No Comment you'll just have to see) My group in this raft was ready for action the goal was always make the other boat wetter than we were, after reviewing our mission, we sailed our flag and readied ourselves for our upcoming covert task. YOU SUNK MY BATTLE SHIP! (remember that one Sizzlers)

We brought some inflatable kyacks along just for the halibut. I know they were greatly appreciated, you know inflatable kyacks are a great way to see the river. Give us a call we'll teach you a few tricks. you know FRESH HALIBUT at RAYS FOODS PLACE is about $7.99 per lb. Just some food for thought!

In life we choose our battles, some better than others. In war one must defend himself by any means possible, I had my big water gun that could spray 50 feet easy! That was until Duayne stoled it from me on a cowardly attemp after lunch. He lied by having me look at this invisble steelhead that never really did appear, when I looked back for my weapon it was already long gone. This prove detrimental to my team and we were soaked the rest of the day. Thats OK it was 89 degrees and we were comfortable getting wet knowing that summer was near it's end and soon none of us would be caught out here in shorts!**WELL FOLKS BUSY WEEK IN THE TROUT CHRONICLES, BUT WHAT A LOT OF FUN! STAY TUNE FOR KLAMATH, LOWER SACRAMENTO AND TRINITY UPDATES. WELL UP DATE YOU ON FALL STEELHEAD AND TROUT, UNTIL THEN TAKE CARE JACK TROUT**
