This is a great place to cool off in all this unexpected heat! it's called Mossbrae Falls and it's located about 2 miles north of the town of Dunsmuir. You walk about a mile up the rail road tracks from Scarlett Retreat to one of the area's true hidden treasures. Amazing it comes right from underground lava tubes, fed by Mt Shasta's melting glaciers, pure spring water that never sees the light of day until it sees you! Call Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce 530-235-2177 for more info....

Shasta Trout enjoys the cool breeze and refreshing mist that comes from the Middle Falls on the Upper Mccloud River. It's one of her favorite places to visit, especially when it's hot! I wonder what she's thinking in that little doggy brain of hers?

Nice Rainbow on the Upper Sac, I'll say! Steve of Gilroy, California Landed this on a size 10 Stimulator. The trout hit on the surface right where two currents converge together and a logjam, that provided cover for the trout to easily dart out and munch on unsuspecting pray. Good job Steve, your my "Sizzler of the Week" award winner!
