Thursday, November 29th, 2001 *SKI PARK OPENS DEC 5TH!!!*
There's a huge storm going on right now thats dumping snow as well as winds as high as 40 miles per hour. as I sit here and write this, I'm looking up out of my window and think "halleluiah"! We need it! I hope it's the end of the two year drought, the rivers and streams have suffered enough, as well as the creatures that inhabit those waters.
So I embrace this storm and look forward to what the winter brings to the Mt Shasta area, like skiing and boarding at the MT Shasta Board and Ski Park and hearing from all my crazy friends that climb Mt Shasta and Board it down,....Fast, trust me FAST!!!!!!!! I just
stick to the Ski Park, a little more my pace. the picture above was taken right before this storm hit, Mt Shasta brewing it's own storm!
This is the next day today! I just added this pic and look how much snow we received! The ghost is out, as they say here in these parts!
What a great year it's been on the Klamath River. It's shows that by managing a fishery correctly, a river can come back from being completely over harvested. I congradulate the Department of Fish and Game at Iron Gate Hatchery and the all others in charge of fishery biologies related to the Klamath Drainage. Yahoo!!!!
A river has been reborn again. Limit your kill, Don't kill your limit! The Klamath regulations are one hatchery trout or steelhead,
it can be idenified by a missing or clipped adipose fin. This is the fin located behind the dorsal fin.
no wild steelhead or trout can be taken, catch and release only.
I have taught many beginners this season how to catch these monsters on fly rods it's a blast, we catch and release lots every trip.
What a nice Cromer Steelhead fresh from the ocean! David, Bud and I went on a voyage this past week and had a real catching frenzy together! David, so happy here in the picture I think he's a bit
getty. Bud, David wanted me to thank you for taking him on this trip
and might consider a Jack Trout Guide Service gift certificate as a stocking stuffer!!
Now do you believe me, The Klamath is back!... David, had a great time
teaching you the river, your a good student and look forward to seeing you in the future! Take care Sizzler!!!!!! Happy Holidays everyone! Next story, fly fishing with Santa Claus.
