****
BELIZE TRIP STARTS APRIL 21ST – BONE FISHING, PERMIT, LOBSTER HUNTS/ MAYAN CAVE EXPLORATIONS AND MANY MORE ADVENTURES!!
STILL HAVE ROOM FOR ONE MORE GROUP FROM APRIL 30TH TO MAY 4TH

In a land called Chile another glacier looks down at us as a chuck of itself falls down a teal blue cliff only to be heard hours later by two passer-bys in a drift boat on a river known as the Yelcho. The muddy chuck of ice breaks apart and becomes half as it falls into a glacier stream and dissolves itself down an embankment as it is now one with the river. The small tributary river flows down a hill and picks up speed as it nears towards the course of its destiny and finally it becomes the river we are on. A trout feels the cold clean water through its gills as its tiny lungs are filled and so the miracle of life has now been completed. All because of a falling glacier we heard some hours ago.

David Cargill from England, Ladies and Gentlemen.
We surely enjoyed our travels together for the second season in a row with David and his wife Maureen.
What a fine shot that was taken of a King Fisher only inches from the cataraft!
Everywhere you looked you could see trout rising and happy bugs flying!
David and Nico were at it again!
Sea run brown?
Maureen and I had a great time hooking and landing trout and to David’s dismay she caught the biggest trout on two of the days! Maureen you have graduated to intermediate, congratulations! Jack Trout
Heading for lunch is always a good thing in Chile. You can always expect a fine shoreline lunch complimented with a bottle of Chilean wine!
The freshness and warm summer sun is a nice break for all of us from the Northern Hemisphere. Maureen sure thought so!
A lunker brown on a Chernoble Ant dry fly fishing can make anyone’s dream trip come true.
The otter wanted us out of his kitchen pronto!
Condors flying over head can renew anyone’s spirit!
Summer flowers that include fuchsia is a sparkling memory in my travels this season.
But it was this deer beetle that takes as long as eight years to hatch from its cocoon that proved to be a real surprise.
This is the elk of terrestrials Sizzlers!
The asado night was classic as usual with warm kindred spirits and compliments abounding all that were present!
Even a stonefly was trying to get in on the action.
Up in Futaleufu a group of rafters make their plans for the coming days.
And the class 4+ rapids with Stone House near the bottom wait for another brave soul.
Horse back riders take in the views
And one very beautiful rider looks on with a special smile for me.
MAUREEN CARGILL CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’RE MY SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!! JT
Meanwhile, Johann from Austria that just happened upon www.mtshasta.com was fishing with my guide Martin from Argentina, and hooks another trout on the Rio Limay!!
Soon after they stop for a fine lunch and Johann tells more jokes and together they laugh!
Our house in Futaleufu looking like a guide’s pad serves its course again.
Lavender fills the air as a big bumble-bee rubs its legs with the scented joy of the region.
Another big day on the Futaleufu proves to be a rewarding one with numbers galore!
David shows off another great catch to all of you out there!
I would like to thank David and Maureen Cargill from all of the guides here at Jack Trout International! Thanks for the model folks you are and making everyone always feel good about themselves, you inspire all you meet and we all appreciate it!
As I stand proud at the gates of the expert section on the Rio Futaleufu, I thank all who watch my site and are loyal listeners! Take care and be ready for more incredible adventures as we boldly go and head into more distant places!!
Many Rivers to you, Jack Trout

Hello Jack Trout,
A couple friends of mine (Lupe and Wes) just got back from Argentina and had tons of stories to tell. I’m flying in to Buenos Aires this tuesday and going to be traveling for 5 weeks, so asked alot of questions. They told me I should get in contact with you and maybe get some direction. I’m planning on fly fishing in as many places as possible in both Argentina and Chile. I’m also visiting wine country in Chile and Mendoza. I’m in the wine business and it makes a great excuse to travel. I will be getting to Bariloche March 23-28th ish and crossing into Chile. Let me know if you’ll be around.
Thanks.

Dear Jack.
We met Jack,Nico,Francisco and Gaston at Chaiten airport to commence
our “annual ” adventure. Fortunately they seemed to be as happy as
we were to see us again. After an excellent meal at the local
restaurant we arrived at our cabin near the Yelcho. Clean ,warm and
looked after by Clara who turned out to be a real treasure. Nothing
was too much effort, the food excellent , surroundings “picture
book” , cabin warm and clean, we had stayed in a few in Tierra del
Fuego that it would have been difficult to say something good about
but that’s another story! We went out on the lake with Nico for an
hour or two and spent most of our time watching and photographing
South American otters that are apparently rare but spent some time
around the boat. The fishing on the lake and river for the next few
days was first class as no doubt the photos show. As with all fishing
holidays we did land some great fish but also lost a monster. I’m not
sure I wish to shoulder all the blame for this, ask Nico!!!! From
time to time there was a deafening noise from the glacier above which
provided an interesting diversion from catching fish! You never see
the bits falling off as they have landed before the noise arrives.
Maureen who is new to fishing is now pretty much addicted which is
sad as my future expenses have now doubled. We were sad to leave the
Yelcho and its people but I”m sure we will meet again. Futafulu, our
next destination turned out to be equally interesting. Very
beautiful, occasionally passing Condors, photos to prove it, the
people friendly, accommodation first class, our thanks to
Rodrigo,Claudia and Francisco who’s cuisine has resulted in a
necessary post hols diet, fishing excellent, the fish were not as big
as the Yelcho but there must have been a surprise or two somewhere
down there waiting to be caught! The water was the lowest in living
memory and we still caught fish! We fished lakes and a variety of
rivers with considerable success and completly forgot the pressures
of everyday life. If you haven’t come across it try obtaining a copy
of the poems of Banjo Patterson and looking up “Clancy of the
Overflow”. whilst Australian there are obvious similarities. Maureen
is not thinking of extending her new found expertise in white water
rafting but thoroughly enjoyed the experience but remarked that it
made casting for a begginer more difficult and landing the fish
slightly troublsome. Jack asked me to write a few words so I have
overextended my invitation. We look forward to our next visit. Whilst
obviously thanking Jack and Francisco a special thank-you must go to
Nico and Gaston for making our stay so enjoyable, a special place
with wonderful people. Our fortunate privilege and I’m sure we will
meet again, health and Gordon Brown, our excessive Chancellor of the
Exchequer, willing. Don’t tell to many people about it for obvious
reasons.

Hi there!
My name is Jeni and Dave Hilbert gave me your name. We are going to be staying at JEDEDIAH SMITH REDWOODS SP march 31st – April 7. We are looking for a good guide for one or two days in the beginning of the week. Are you available? If so what are your rates? If not could you please suggest someone? Thank you so much.
Jeni
Jack,
Hi this is Steve Hatzell and my father and I are going to be in Santiago on the 23 rd of March and we are looking for a place to do some incredible fishing for some big trout. We would like to fish the 24th thru the 27th and leave on the 28th as we have some business up in Antofagasta at the end of the week. Please let me know if you have something available for us, we can be a little flexible on our dates. We would really like to fish dry flies and some streamers and some terrestials, I myself do not prefer to nymph fish, as I am horrible at it. Please let me know what you have available and we can discuss our options, I would also like to know what areas you like to fish weather it is rivers or lakes and how you access the fishing areas, weather wading of by boat.
Thank you for your time
Steve Hatzell
Jack,
Is the rain affecting most of the rivers this time of year? If so is it
worth coming to fish the Rio Petrohue, and Rio maullin? If I arrived in
Puerto Montt on the 23 rd, how many days do you think I will need to fish
those two rivers? Also, do you have gear that we can rent as we might not
have any with us on this trip?
Thank you,
Steve
Trucha Amigo,
Please reserve Sunday, May 27 for me. I’ll pay the balance then. Looking
forward to it.
Hasta Luego,
Miguel
Well,
My wife is due April 3rd so I had been hoping to get up there before
the baby arrives.
Please pencil me in for the 19th, although, I honestly don’t think
they will be ready to travel by then.
Rick
Hi Jack,
Where are you? Are you still in Chile? Wes and I met you in Bariloche! We are back in Washington state and we have a friend that is heading your way. He will leave Seattle on the 14 and arrive in Buenos Aires from there He is heading to Bariloche and Puerto Mont. He wants to do some fishing! Right up your alley!
Write back and let us know what your plans are!!!
Take care,
Lupe Peterson
Hey Jack. Be careful not to fall in love down there…it looks like it would be easy to do. As for the upper sac, I was thinking May 29 and 30 cause I have to wait till my boys are out of school. Those two days with two rafts. Think that will work? Enought water?

Hi there Jack,
Found your page on the internet while checking for the Mt. Shasta dinner train info.
I thought you might enjoy knowing my last name. It’s the same as yours.
I had a part-Cherokee dad who named me “Happy morning water Trout” when I was born, explaining that morning water was always clean, and if it was dirty at the end of the day…that was MY problem.
I have gone by “Hap Trout” all my life so far ( I am to be 73 on June 1st ).
Seems like you LOVE what you are doing.
Just wanted to say “Hi”
HAP Trout
