I made it to Chile Sizzlers! This is the spectacular Lago Calafquen located just outside of Lincan Ray near Pucon.
See that wonderful volcano in the back ground? I¥ve asked three people but no ones seems to know it’s name? I then was told that there is 2006 different volcanos in Chile and this is just another one!! Wow! What a wonderful place on earth.jt

After arriving and passing through customs my dear old friend and partner from Coyhaique, Juan Ramos picked me up and took me over to his house for a few days of R&R. When you get off the plane, especially from California you feel as though
you need a rest. So after I gave them a slough of gifts,( maily Mother Sees chocolates) I offered to take the family out on the town to the restaurant of choice in Santiago. Juan Ramos has now become the master sargent of the Santiago Police. I was so proud of him, and the family was so happy.
His wife Leticia, dauhters Camela and Catalina as well as grandma attended!

Like always the food was so deliiiicious! I’m telling you Sizzlers you have to make down some day! The price was right also, paying about half of what this could cost in the U.S.

What a doll, the Chileans are so wonderful with their kids, I think it’s something all North Americans could learn by. The family is 1st in Chile, then friends, then work. The culture is so amazing and the hospitality is unsurpassed.
If your ever are invited into a Chileans home you’ll see what I mean!

“vina del mar beach”

After leaving Juan’s house all I could think about was heading to the beach in Vina Del Mar! Mt Shasta was cold when I left and shoveling all that snow off my roof prior to leaving, only fueled my desire to leave my imprints in the warm freindly sands of Vina.

ViÒa Del Mar is a magical place, that offers beach life, great food, including the freshest seafood on earth. I enjoy the discos that play great rock music from the 80’s and 90’s, all the songs you hear are so familar you feel right at home. It’s totally safe, even at night and for a single man as well as a couple this is truly a romantic get away!
I would describe this city as the “Monte Carlo of Chile.”The views are just incredible and the weather, PERFECT!

Back at the beach I ran into this sweetheart and told her all about my single guide back in Redding California, Mike Hibbard! She was very excited to know him someday and was more than happy to pose for this picture for mtshasta.com.
“Mike, your coming down next year for sure!!!”

Then I went for smoothie and actually ran into one! This picture was taken with one person in mind, MIKE HIBBARD.
February 2006 bud we’re here! Maybe there’s a few others out there that might like to tag along, trust me they like Greigos!

Rejo de flores, the flower clock Sizzlers! I love wild flowers and great photo ops and this clock is so cool! I haven’t been back to ViÒa in two years, but this walk by is always a tradition with Trout!

All the romantic sights are in place and Castillo Wulff, (Wolf Castle) is just one of many places to feel love! Where is the love I say, right here in Vina Sizzlers….jt

“City of Vina”

Downtown Vina is a fun place too! With all the street vendors and overall very clean in it’s appearance. Food prices are right on the Avenida de Valpraiso, it’s a great day everytime I visit it’s friendly shops and restaurants.

After leaving Vina I took the 10:30 Pm train to Temuco like always. I love the train, buses are too dodgie and the plane
ride lacks culture. It’s 9 hours over night but if you buy the preferred ticket the price is only $50 US. I think that¥s a bargain! They have a restaurant on board and I suggest a half litre of wine to make the ride right. This couple were just married and were excited to be going down south for their, “luna de miel”Honey Moon. Also they are my SIZZLERS OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNERS!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLERS!! HAVE FUN ON THE GRAN ISLE OF CHILOE!!

Mutt catching rays in Pucon! The train ride was marvelous as always and the day commence at 7 am with breakfast served on the train. When we arrived in Temuco as I was getting bags off the train I bumped into a girl with the most beautiful eyes I have ever laid eyes on Sizzlers! She was an angel with blond hair and she had a big back pack that she was hauling. She asked me where I was going and we began a conversation that lasted into that day. I invited her to come along on my advetures before the fly fishing customers arrived and she accepted!!*****STAY TUNE SIZZLERS AS WE HEAD INTO PUCON FOR NIGHT LIFE, ANDES MOUNTAIN SHOTS, RAFTING
AND A GERMAN GIRL NAMED CHRISTINE WHO’S COMING ALONG FOR THE RIDE!!***** JACK TROUT FLY FISHING STARTS NEXT WEEK SIZZLERS!!
